Color Theory for Watercolor
January 8 & 9, 2009 (9:30 am – 4 pm)
This two-day workshop teaches color theory for watercolor. Students will create
a booklet with samples of a variety of color mixture. Teacher will demonstrate
different methods to mix color. This class covers the color wheel, color charts,
mixing grays, mixing greens, mixing color on the palette and on the watercolor
paper, glazing with color and color relationships. Students will create their
own notebook of all their color samples for their personal reference, which will
enhance their watercolor paintings.

Watercolor Fixes
January 22 & 23, 2009 (9:30 am – 4 pm)
Do you have a growing stack of watercolor paintings that are not to your
satisfaction? Bring them to a two-day workshop and learn what you can do to make
them work. Instructor will present class demonstrations to give you some new
ideas for your paintings. Students will then work to enhance their own paintings
with a combination of new thoughts, paint, and collage. Class can also include
students with any water-based media (acrylic or gauche) on paper.

Acrylic Painting Workshop
January 29 & 30, 2009 (9:30 am – 4 pm)
Do you want to enrich your paintings with color and contrast? This two-day
workshop will teach the value of a strong under painting to enhance and enliven
your acrylic paintings. It will also emphasize the importance of having strong
value contrasts. Instructor will complete class demonstrations and students will
create their own acrylic painting from a class still life or their own reference
photographs. Pre-requisite: prior knowledge and experience with drawing and
painting.
